Introduction to Private Prisons

Prison privatization is fundamentally wrong. It sacrifices liberty and justice for corporate profits. Prison corporations have significant vested interests in mass incarceration.

Private prison corporations make more money for their shareholders when more people are incarcerated and for longer periods of time.

This is just wrong. These incentives are perverse, unethical, and immoral. The privatization of prisons violates the Constitution of the United States. We are determined to have our day before the U.S. Supreme Court to abolish for-profit incarceration.
